Vacation Pics!

We had a wonderful trip!! Grand Cayman is a beautiful island all around, and we had the perfect mix of sand, sun, relaxation, gorgeous water, good food, and best friends. We had a kitchen, a car, and a great spot on the island, all of which allowed us to do the trip our own way...it didn't feel super touristy, and quite a few times we had beautiful beaches all to ourselves. We cooked some great meals between our kitchen and the grills on the beach, and enjoyed more than our fair share of "beach hooch" (vodka, fruit juice and 7-up or ting; best when shared out of a 2-liter bottle during a surprise rainstorm, and especially when Greg sings it's name), and "rum snooters" (anything with rum). Here is the view from our deck at Morritt's Grand Resort.

My favorite girls - Jessie, Shelby, and Anna!
Greg and I at a great beach called Rum Point, just before our chartered snorkel trip.

Here is Greg bobbing around out at sea during our snorkel trip. We had a fantastic time with our guide Alan on his boat Double Trouble.

Playing with the rays at Stingray Alley on the sandbar was amazing! Dozens of stingrays that live here are very docile and apparently do not mind being handled after so much exposure to dive boats and swimmers. They are strong, and slippery and prehistoric looking.

The water here was no more than thigh deep for hundreds of feet out from shore, with a fine sandy bottom...it's fun to walk in an ocean like this!

Clouds that threatened but never drenched us...

And below are some of my favorite underwater pictures: rays, fish and a giant moray eel!
